Trio de l’Île / Brahms and Piazzolla : two masterpieces

Impetus, luminosity and audaciousness…

The Trio de l'île invites the audience to experience romantic drama on another level!  The undeclared love of the young Johannes Brahms for Clara Schumann, and Astor Piazzolla's obsession with defending the Nuevo Tango to the point of fisticuffs, caused these two strong personalities to transform chamber music forever.

Of Armenian descent, fluent in five languages and mastering the innumerable challenges of Liszt and Prokofiev, pianist Patil Harboyan's fascinating personality sets the tone for the Trio de l'île.

Grand winner of the Prix d'Europe 2018 and classed among the "thirty best musicians in Canada aged thirty and under," Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy was immersed in music from childhood. He plays, arranges, composes and enjoys playing rock as much as classical music.

For Uliana Drugova, music pervades every gesture, every breath. It is like her reason for being,  a perpetual quest. Winner and finalist in various competitions, including the Canadian Music Competition, and of many prizes and grants, Uliana Drugova treads with success across Canada's most important stages.
